Monthly Favorites: Things That I Love (January 2021)

I’m thrilled to kick off a new monthly blog series titled “Things That I Love”! Each month, I’ll share a curated list of my favorite finds and experiences. Expect a delightful mix of topics, from movies and music to clothing and viral sensations. Whatever has caught my interest, I’ll share it here! Let’s dive into my favorites for January 2021.

Amanda Gorman: A Poetic Inspiration

One of the standout moments of the month was Amanda Gorman’s stunning performance at the Presidential Inauguration. If you haven’t yet experienced her original poem, “The Hill We Climb,” you’re truly missing something special. In just a few minutes, Gorman encapsulated the emotions of a nation yearning for hope and unity. At only 22 years old, she made history as the youngest inaugural poet, and her talent is undeniable. Her words resonated deeply with many, reflecting a collective sense of aspiration and resilience during a time of uncertainty.

A Historic Moment: Kamala Harris’ Inauguration

Continuing with the inauguration theme, the swearing-in of Kamala Harris was a moment of historic significance. As the first female Vice President, along with being the first African American and first South Asian Vice President of the United States, her achievement marks a monumental step for representation. Little girls across the country can now envision themselves in leadership roles that were once deemed unattainable. This moment isn’t just a victory for Harris; it symbolizes progress for women and marginalized communities everywhere. Representation truly matters, and her presence in the White House is a powerful testament to that truth.

Jazmine Sullivan’s “Heaux Tales”: A Musical Delight

Another highlight of the month was the release of Jazmine Sullivan’s EP, “Heaux Tales.” This collection showcases her incredible vocal talent and songwriting prowess. Sullivan is one of the most underrated artists in the industry, and this EP is a reminder of her immense capabilities. Each track offers something unique, making it difficult to choose a favorite. From soulful ballads to upbeat tracks, “Heaux Tales” is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates genuine artistry. If you haven’t had the chance to dive into her music, I highly recommend it!

Canva: A Creative Essential

On the practical side, I’ve discovered the invaluable resource that is Canva. As I embark on my entrepreneurial journey, this tool has quickly become an essential part of my workflow. I utilize Canva for a multitude of tasks, from designing Pinterest pins to crafting YouTube thumbnails. Its user-friendly interface allows for endless creativity, and I’m constantly finding new ways to leverage it for my blog and business needs. If you’re in need of graphic design solutions, I encourage you to explore all that Canva has to offer. You’ll be amazed at what you can create!

Craft Smart Oil-Based Paint Pens: The Perfect Detailing Tool

For my fellow crafters, I recently came across Craft Smart Oil-Based Paint Pens, and they have transformed my creative projects. I initially bought just two pens, but I was so impressed that I plan to purchase more. These pens allow for precise detailing, making them a great alternative to traditional paintbrushes. Whether you’re embellishing crafts or adding intricate details to your artwork, these pens are a game-changer.
